App Lock acts as an automatic security layer for your Ficos app. When enabled, it locks the app after a short period of inactivity or when you leave the app. To access it again, users must authenticate using a PIN or the device’s biometric security.

Set a Secure PIN: Choose a 4-digit or longer PIN unique to your Ficos app. This acts as the primary backup if biometric methods aren't available.

Manage Your PIN: You can easily change or remove your PIN later. However, keeping a PIN as a fallback is strongly recommended.
Biometric Authentication

Use Existing Device Features: Ficos integrates with your phone or tablet’s security setup—fingerprint, face unlock, or iris scan (if supported).

Automatic Detection: If your device supports and has biometric authentication set up, Ficos will detect and use it.

Auto Lock After Inactivity

Inactivity Timeout: Ficos automatically locks itself after a short period without interaction (default is 1 minute). This helps protect your data if you get distracted or step away.

Background Locking: The app also locks when you switch away from it or when your screen goes off.

Limit Access: On devices used by multiple employees, App Lock ensures that only verified users can access Ficos and your shop’s sensitive data.

Lost or Stolen Devices: If a device is misplaced, App Lock provides a crucial barrier to prevent unauthorized access.
PIN Lockout for Incorrect Attempts

Brute Force Protection: After 5 incorrect PIN entries, Ficos temporarily disables further attempts. With repeated failures, the lockout period increases to protect against guessing.
How to Set Up App Lock in Ficos
Getting started is simple. Follow these steps:

Open the Ficos app and go to Store Settings.

Tap on the new Security section.

Toggle the Enable App Lock switch to turn it on.

Set a PIN if one isn’t already configured.

If your device supports biometric authentication and it's already set up, Ficos will automatically enable it.

If biometrics are supported but not yet set up, Ficos will guide you to your phone’s security settings to enable them.
