This FiCOS app is currently being setup and installed in hotels to debunk the myth that it is just a retail solution! It's can also be applied as a hotel management system! Let's us first start by setting up our Inventory! When I set it up in www.satelliteonehotel.com! I chose to use the categories as different departments which have a sale point! For instance, there a categories of bar, restaurant, laundry and front office! In the inventory category list of front office, we add the room types and the different room prices! In the bar category, u will add the drinks with their different prices the same applies with laundry and front office!

We had an issue when we were implementing the system in hotels! We were training employees how to use the system! Now we wanted to go on the parallel run! A parallel run in implementation is when u use the manual system and management system concurrently! In this case, the FiCOS app! We had to cancel all the orders they used in training and start of a fresh slate! But when you cancel an order it still shows on the list until you get out of the app and come back then the order will disappear from the list! Sometimes when you get out of the app and come back it is still on the list! You have to give it time for it to disappear from the list! When you try to cancel the order again! It says it has already been cancelled! For a layman, he would assume it has failed to cancel the order bt for an IT consultant you will understand this is an issue of cacheing and u will work around it! Admin, please fix this issue! Otherwise app is responsive and fast!
The issue is also with purchase orders
The latest version addresses this issue. we shall look into the purchase order issue. The latest version 1.0.42 addresses the cancelling order issue, so i suggest upgrading to latest version
- In the he hospitality industry there are two types of guests! Walk-in guests and the guest that have checked in the rooms!The billing of these guests is different! The ones who are checked in the hotel are normally billed on a tab! Or on credit! That's to say during their residency, their bills accumulated are cleared when checking out! The walk ins don't have a room there, they will clear the bill after a good is sold to them or after a service given! To capture this in the FiCOS app, the walk in guests will be treated as a normal sale! You open new sale and go thru process of a new sale! The guests checked in the room, their details have to captured and saved the customer! Now it is easier to create a tab for that customer which you bill!
It would be great though if I add a booking system! Because some high end restaurants need booking! Hotels too! A channel Manager that syncs online bookings and bookings in the app too to avoid double bookings! Cheers!
